These luxury horsehair pendant necklaces are unique to Storm & Grace, made by me in Devon using the best quality recycled sterling silver, cubic zirconia gemstones in a colour of your choice, and of course tail hair from your own horse or pony.

These chunky pendants make quite the bold statement - imagine surprising your loved one or bestie with a custom made and personalised keepsake of their own horse or pony, for them to treasure forever.  Or indeed, treating yourself to a piece of horsehair jewellery to celebrate your heart horse.

The sterling silver pendant has an organic feel, with softly rounded edges and a hammered texture, which, along with the mirror polished finish, catches the light and sparkles beautifully.

The synthetic cubic zirconia gemstones are a more eco-friendly way to add colour and that extra personal touch than mined gemstones - you could pick your favourite colour, your cross country colour, the colour of your favourite matchy-matchy set, or just a colour that you know would look good with the colour of your horse's tail.

The main body of the horsehair pendant is approximately 25mm in diameter - each one is slightly different as I make them to fit exactly around the braided horse hair.  They come on a suitably chunky 18" sterling silver belcher chain with a bolt catch clasp.  If you'd like a different length of chain, or a different type of clasp (maybe to accommodate arthritic fingers?), let me know when you order and I'll make it happen.  Oh, and if you're left handed?  Let me know when you order and I'll put the clasp on the left side, so it's easier for you to do up.  

These pendants require tail hair to be at least 12 inches long - really, the longer the better!  If your horsehair is shorter than this, or you only have mane or forelock hair, please give me a shout before you order.  Don't worry - I can still make you an absolutely gorgeous necklace, but we may need to tweak the design slightly to accommodate the shorter horse hair.  Perfectly do-able, but working out the details before you order saves us both a lot of faffing about in the long run!

I always begin by washing and braiding the horsehair - that way, I can custom make the silver pendant so that it fits perfectly around the braid. Not only does it look better, (and when I say "better" I mean the dog's doo-daaahs) it means that even if you do only have a small amount of horsehair, I can still make you something beautiful.

Your horsehair is treated with the utmost care and respect throughout the making process, and any unused hair is packaged and returned to you along with your finished pendant.  Our covetable packaging is eco-friendly, beautiful and functional, and includes a complementary jewellery cleaning cloth and a few tips on looking after your jewellery.

Lead times are around 4 - 6 weeks from the time I receive your horsehair.  If you require your pendant sooner than this, please contact me before you place your order.
